James Glass' first UK visit on his fourth term as Chief Islander

New Chief Islander's London meetings

Report and photos from Tristan Government Representative Chris Carnegy

Tristan da Cunha's new Chief Islander arrived in the UK on April 11th. Returning for a fourth term as the island's figurehead, James Glass is Director of Fisheries, and much of his visit is devoted to preparations for the expected 'Blue Belt' designation of new protection for Tristan's vast ocean zone. This included time spent on the Hampshire coast where Tristan's patrol vessel Wave Dancer is being refurbished, and a patrol in the Irish Sea with the UK's Marine Management Organisation.

These pictures from UK Representative Chris Carnegy were taken on April 24th, duing a busy round of meetings in Westminster.
