tristandc.com website
The Tristan da Cunha Website was launched on 14th March 2005 and will develop into a comprehensive guide to the islands and an on-line shop. It is a joint project between the Tristan da Cunha Government and the Tristan da Cunha Association. Our aim is to present the unique Tristan da Cunha Islands to a worldwide audience in an accessible and attractive format, whilst also providing 21st Century commercial marketing to a community remote from normal trading opportunities.

We do not pay contributors, and any funds raised are for the benefit of the Tristan Community, not individuals. Contributions from visitors, islanders at home and abroad, and others interested in this unique community are always welcome, especially those who can contribute photographs free of copyright .

To contribute to the development of the website contact the Website Manager on webmanager@tristandc.com.

Funding and Organisation
tristandc.com has been established with a start-up grant of less than £1500 from the UK Government to promote web sales & assist the local economy. The site is presently run from the UK, mainly through regular email input from Tristan. After Tristan da Cunha upgrades web access it is hoped to obtain a further grant to provide on-island training so that the site can be run locally.

Copying and Publishing
The website is not printer-friendly (except for Order Forms) as it is set deliberately on a coloured background with relatively large font style and with the aim of making it easy to view and read. The Tristan Government intends to make graphical images and textual information available for private and public publication in due course.
