Next Annual Gathering

The next Tristan da Cunha Association Annual Gathering will be held at the voco hotel in Southampton (formerly the Holiday Inn) on Saturday 10th April 2027.

The Annual Gathering will be at venue in 2027 - the refurbished voco hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn) on the waterfront at Southampton, UK.

The 2027 Annual Gathering

Extra 40th Anniversary Activities

The Tristan da Cunha Association will celebrate its 40th anniverary in 2027. We are therefore arranging some special extra activities to mark the event.

River Cruise to Calshot

There will be an optional river cruise on Southampton Water on the afternoon of Sunday 11th April. This will tour the docks and do a trip to the Solent viewing the Calshot area. Calshot is the village to which the Tristan population was evacuated for two years when the volcano erupted next to settlement in October 1961. The boat's return trip will follow the route of MV Stirling Castle in November 1961 when islanders arrived in the UK. They were accommodated in the decommissioned seaplane station. There is still a street there named Tristan Close in their honour.

The cruise is scheduled to take place between 12:00 noon and 3:00pm, and will include a sandwich lunch. The price will the £30.00 per person (visiting islanders free).

We have been allocated a limited number of rooms at a special rate, and we urge members to book accommodation now by phoning hotel reception on +44 (0) 2380 388142 asking for the TDCA AG rates:

£115 for single occupancy — £125 for double occupancy incl. B&B. — There is no deposit to be paid.

When our allotted rooms are all reserved, additional rooms may be available, but at market rates, hence we strongly request early booking.
