Administrator Fiona Kilpatrick hosted a reception on 27th January 2021 in the Residency to present British Empire Medals (BEMs) to long-serving St Mary's Church Lay Ministers Lars Repetto and Eddie Rogers. Fiona summed up their achievements perfectly when she described them as: 'Two men who have quietly, humbly and with great dignity served their community, families and church for over 100 years between them.'

The award of BEMs to Lars and Eddie was announced in the New Year Honours List published on 28th December 2019. However, the difficulties brought upon the world by the pandemic meant that it took much longer than usual for the medals to be delivered to Tristan for formal presentation. Our report on the announcement gives more information about the men and their work.
