Obituary for Amy Green

Amy GreenWe regret to report the death of Amy Gertrude Dora Green (née Glass) who passed away peacefully on 3rd September 2025, aged 88 years.
Born on the 9th of April 1937, Amy was the second eldest child of Victoria and Thomas Glass. On 4th July 1957, she married Harold Green, and together they built a devoted family, raising two children, Richard and Pamela.
Amy was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was known for her gentle nature and her generous spirit. A talented knitter, she created countless pairs of socks and other handmade treasures for her grandchildren.
She cherished the outdoors and especially enjoyed working alongside Harold in the Potato Patches, where she also loved camping at weekends. Amy often accompanied him on fatting trips to Nightingale, and the two shared many happy holidays at the Caves.
Amy worked for the Administrator sometime before the volcano erupted. She worked later as a cleaner in the Island Store. She took great pride in her work and was appreciated for her reliability and kindness.
In her spare time, Amy found joy in looking after her grandchildren and the children of her extended family. Her home was always open, warm, and welcoming.
Amy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Amy is survived by her daughter Pamela, Son in-law Thomas, grandchildren Damien, George, Sonia and Rodney, her brother Roger, sister in-law Rose, daughter in-law Francesca and great grandchildren Natasha Mia, Esme and Connor.
