Jason Ivory's Address

"Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known.
She was an extraordinary person, who lived an extraordinary life: a constant presence and example for each of us, guiding and serving us all for as long as any of us can remember.
Throughout her reign, and seven decades of extraordinary change and challenge, Her Majesty was the epitome of duty, stability, wisdom and grace.
The United Kingdom is the great country it is today because of her.
As we meet today, we remember the pledge she made on her 21st birthday to dedicate her life to service.
Never has a promise been so completely fulfilled.
Her devotion to duty remains an example to us all.
She remained determined to carry out her duties even at the age of 96
The island community has always held Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in high regard. At this time we remember those who were invited to Buckingham Palace in March 1962 who were able to present Her Majesty with the island longboat Carlisle. I'm sure Jane Repetto will also fondly remember the occasion when she presented Her Majesty with a posy of orchids during the opening of the Commonwealth Institute on 6 November 1962.
As a faithful Christian disciple and the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, the Queen lived out her faith every day of her life. Her trust in God and profound love for God was foundational in how she led her life - hour by hour, day by day.
In The Late Queen's life, we saw what it means to receive the gift of life we have been given by God and - through patient, humble, selfless service - share it as a gift to others.
She was not shy in speaking of her faith. Her prayer in her first Christmas broadcast before her Coronation had been fulfilled was that God would give her wisdom and strength to carry out the solemn promise she would be making and to faithfully serve God and us all the days of her life.
Your Majesty, may you rest in peace and rise in glory. God bless and we thank you for your unwavering service.
The Queen is dead. Long live the King."
