MV Edinburgh returns to Cape Town

Passengers boarded the Edinburgh on Wednesday 7th December at about 5.30pm, and the ship sailed for Cape Town at 6.30pm. Passengers aboard included Tristan islanders Nigel Lavarello and Andre Repetto; Erik Mackenzie, Carolyne Kewn, Sam Tatton, Antje Steinfurth and Fabrice Le Bouard.
MV Edinburgh is scheduled to depart Cape Town on 14th January, arriving Tristan 21st January with the first 2017 post and supplies for the island since 30th November. MV Edinburgh will be replaced as Ovenstones principal fishing vessel by the MV Geo-Searcher, presently on passage from Poland to Cape Town, but will be retained as a cargo / passenger vessel and avilailable to the company for fishing if required.
