The yacht Rotary Scout called in at Tristan mid-afternoon on Monday 24th February 2020 with battery problems and no wind to sail. The island search and rescue team swiftly got the RIB Atlantic Dawn into the water, gave the yacht a tow to the anchorage and delivered another battery to them. Sadly the rainy weather and rough sea conditions meant that the crew onboard the yacht were unable to come ashore.

Later that afternoon another yacht, the Argonaut, arrived at Tristan. Both yachts anchored offshore hoping that the next day would bring favourable weather so that they could land and explore the island.

Tuesday brought favourable weather and lots of excitement as both crews onboard the two yachts came ashore early morning. Everyone had a lovely day visiting the Post Office and Tourism Centre as well as the Island Store, exploring the settlement and talking to some of the locals before heading off later that day.
