Departure from Tristan

Thanks to lovely weekend weather, the offloading of the MFV Lance was completed at midday on Sunday 15th December 2024. The following passengers boarded her at about 8:30pm, and she departed just after 9:00pm for Gough Island from where she will depart for Cape Town.

Arrival at Tristan

The MFV Lance arrived off Tristan about 4.30pm on Friday 6th December 2024 but stayed in the lee of the island as sea conditions were not favourable to disembark passengers, and on Saturday moved to shelter at Inaccessible Island. A break in the weather on the morning of the 10th December allowed passengers to disembark just after 10:00am, although it was not possible to start offloading cargo. After two challenging weeks aboard, there were a lot of happy faces!

Passengers were:

Islanders: James Glass, Paul, Geraldine & Katie Repetto, Albert & Marion Green, George Swain & Chloe Glass;

Non-islander: Richard Lockwood (Teacher).

Departure from Cape Town

The MFV Lance departed Cape Town for Tristan a about 17:30 on Wednesday 27th November 2024.
