Tristan Represented at Service to mark the Queen's 90th Birthday

St Paul's Cathedral in London was the setting for a National Service of Thanksgiving to mark the Queen's 90th birthday - and Tristan da Cunha was part of the occasion.

The islands' UK Representative Chris Carnegy joined colleagues from other Overseas Territories at the event, which included a prayer for HRH the Duke of Edinburgh who celebrated his 95th birthday on the day of the service, almost six decades after his historic visit to Tristan.

The Archbishop of Canterbury led the service, and Sir Richard Attenborough (like the Queen, 90 years old) gave a reading.

Chris says 'Tristan is proud to be part of Her Majesty's realm, and it was a great privilege to be at the heart of this momentous occasion'. The island sent loyal birthday greetings to the Queen in April.

Chris and fellow Territory Representatives gather at the Foreign Office ahead of the service.
