Remembrance Sunday 2022

Wreath laid in Whitehall on behalf of Tristan da Cunha

Report and photos from Tristan Government UK Representative Chris Carnegy

A wreath was laid on Remembrance Sunday 13th November 2022 at the Centotaph in Whitehall, on behalf of Tristan da Cunha and her sister islands of St Helena and Ascension.

In 2022 it was the turn of St Helena’s UK Representative Kedell Worboys to lay the wreath on behalf of ‘the governments and the people’ of the whole Territory. Tristan will have the honour again next year; I was invited to observe this wreath-laying from a vantage point within the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

The London ceremony was the first to be led by King Charles as monarch.
